Evaguel Rhysing, Head Coach

Evaguel Rhysing is honored and excited to be part of BCC's athletic history by developing the college's volleyball program for the first time in 30 years. She is dedicated to building a player-centered team that fosters a positive, supportive environment while emphasizing skill development and teamwork. Her goal is to leave a lasting impact on the 黑料不打烊 Volleyball Community, which has become an integral part of her life.

Coach Rhysing has started to build her staff quickly, and has added former Mount Greylock volleyball player Chelsea Garrison as an assistant coach for the Falcons volleyball program.

Rhysing returned to volleyball as a coach after retiring as a player in her 20s. She began her coaching journey at Mount Greylock, where she led the JV team to a 14-3 record, guided the freshman team to an 7-1 season, and assisted the NJCAA team's Head Coach Greg Geyer. During her off season, she joined the AVA Volleyball club and currently coaches their 14's team.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Rhysing began her volleyball career at Barbara Ann Rosler, playing as a setter and defensive specialist for the Pumas before becoming the school's first-ever Libero when the position was introduced in 1999. She competed from middle school through Puerto Rico's high leagues, where she recorded 402 digs and 78 assists in her best season.

Beyond volleyball, Rhysing is a licensed educator, entrepreneur, and marketer. She is committed to providing young athletes with opportunities for personal and professional growth, believing that volleyball fosters confidence, discipline, and a sense of achievement. She also strongly believes that not only do the players learn from the coaches, but the coaches learn from the players. Lessons she experienced while working with the dedicated players at Mount Greylock.

As the head volleyball coach at BCC, Rhysing is focused on helping her athletes develop not only as players but also as individuals. She aims to make practices fun but also a safe space where players can make mistakes and polish their skills to become better athletes. She aims to open doors for them to graduate, transfer to four-year schools, and/or continue playing at a competitive level. Passionate about strengthening the local volleyball community, she is dedicated to supporting high school programs and contributing to the 黑料不打烊s' reputation as a hub for volleyball.

Returning to volleyball has given me a renewed sense of purpose. It reminded me how vital the mind-body connection is in sports, both for young adults and for people of all ages. The volleyball community, coaches and players alike, have given me a Home at and I am eager to use my experience to help these athletes grow and help all of us grow as we make history together in the 黑料不打烊s. I'm excited, energized, and ready to go. Let's do this!

Currently, Coach Rhysing lives in Pittsfield with her family and two dogs, Sylver and Kaly.

Chelsea Garrison, Assistant Coach

Chelsea Garrison has been an avid volleyball fan since the age of eight. She began her career in volleyball in 2004 at Mount Greylock, the first year the sport was introduced at the school. Her passion and enthusiasm grew from that first day into forever. Quickly becoming one of Mount Greylock's strongest outside hitters and servers, scoring an average of 15 points per game. Her performance led her to becoming captain in her senior year and leading Greylock into the semi-finals in the Western Mass championships.

When the opportunity to become assistant coach at BCC arose, she was excited.

Volleyball has always been one of the highlights of my life. I love being a part of a team, and having the ability to start with BCC from the very beginning feels like it's meant to be. I'm hoping to help be a part of a lasting happy memory our women can hold onto in their later years just as I have! Someone who they can look for to be a positive role model in this life. I look forward to helping Coach Rhysing grow the volleyball community at BCC.
